Rudy Lopez, is the Owner/operator of 1626 Construction & Landscaping. He learned the building trades at young age as a laborer/apprentice for a well-known company in Las Vegas, NV at the beginning of the year 2000.
After 5 years of learning different areas of the residential construction, he moved to Austin and started working for a masonry company in West Austin. After a few years in the trade, his knowledge, skills and abilities motivated him to become an independent contractor working in both areas: commercial and residential.
Unfortunately, the recession in 2008, strike the construction business, especially the small business. After a short time staying afloat, he took the position as a Senior Estimator for an Austin-based commercial & residential construction company.
Over the next few years, he worked closely with a talented team of Architects, Designers and tradespeople to successfully produce high quality renovations, commercial construction and custom-made homes, many of which are award winning and industry recognized in Central Texas. During that time, he was also involved with the building permits and processes, honing his fluency with the ever-evolving Austin building permit and plan review process.
With over 20 years of experience, skills and knowledge, he decided one more time to take a leap of faith and become a general contractor in 2021 with the mission to build high quality renovations and construction through a personalized and transparent process. Just the way construction should be!
Linda Baier, is his wife, partner and office manager. Graduated with a Bachelor degree in Business Administration under the Jesuits model of education, her experience in financial analysis, came in handy, managing the books and the company’s financials.
She joined 1626 Construction full time in 2022.
Linda, Rudy and their kids, are very active members of the Santa Cruz Catholic Church in Buda, Texas and they also volunteer in many other organizations such as The Salvation Army and El Buen Samaritano.
Coming from humble beginnings in El Salvador, They are both Living the American Dream!!
